Hundreds of Christians have gathered at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole for overnight prayers to usher in 2020.
The prayers will be led by Dr Joseph Serwadda under the theme “Remarkable and exceptional turnaround.
Dr Serwadda notes that he expects the Christians to start experiencing a remarkable change in their lives effective next year.
He says that God will continue blessing people and do mighty things for those who trust in his prophets.
At Old Kampala Secondary School, preparations for overnight prayers were swift with chairs and the stage already set up by mid-morning.
The prayers will be led by Bishop David Livingston Kiganda of Christianity Focus Ministries.
Meanwhile at Kololo airstrip, where Pastor of Christian Life Church Jackson Ssenyonga will lead prayers Christians strolled in slowly.
Security was a key highlight with military police, anti-terrorism and regular police visible at the sight. All people who had entered early at Kololo were ordered out at midday for the area to first be combed by police dogs for any explosives.
At Old Kampala secondary school, police are also manning the area with people subjected to thorough checks before they gain entrance.
