Kampala High Court has declared Ruth Sebatindira the former Uganda Law Society President as the new UTL administrator.

Sebatindira replaces Bemanya Twebaze whose contract expired in 2019.

This follows an application in which the Uganda Contribution Employees’ Contributory Pension Scheme (UCECPS) forced Nelson Bemanya Twebaze to be removed from office and replaced with someone else.

Through their lawyers Kwesigabo, Bamwine, and Walubiri Advocates, the applicants accused Bemanya of failing to collect the outstanding amounts from the government and its departments in terms of the Deed of Administration

They also accuse Bemanya of failure to find an investor to restore and perform well.

The applicants faulted Bemanya for failing to collect the outstanding amounts due to UTL from the government and its departments standing at over 207 billion Shillings.

Justice Lydia Mugambe of the Civil Division of the High Court made the ruling on Thursday, January 02, 2020, said that Ssebatindira is a qualified and registered Insolvency Practitioner with experience and proficiency to safeguard the interests of all creditors of the company.

The appointment of an Administrator lies in the Court and the same has powers to look at the list of all licensed Insolvency Practitioners and exercise its discretion to pick one and appoint him or her as the legible Administrator.
