Police in Iganga is hunting for a 40-year-old man who is on the run after allegedly killing his father.
The suspect Sanon Mutwalume reportedly killed his father Samuel Mutwalume, 85, after disagreeing on the sale of a piece of land in Iganga district, Eastern Uganda.
According to Bilali Waiswa, the LCI Chairman of Namungalwe rural, Samuel refused to divide the proceeds from his land sale with the son Sanon Mutwalume which made him furious prompting him to hit the father with a club.
Neighbors rushed him to Namungwale Health Centre IV where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Iganga District Police Commander David Ndawula says that the police are still looking for the suspect and police officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department have been dispatched to investigate the matter.
