Police in Hoima have put behind bars a pastor for the alleged assault of an 85year old woman.
Pastor Emmanuel Kiiza, 46 years, a senior pastor at United Miracle Church, was picked up by police detectives on Tuesday evening following accusations that he badly beat up an 85-year-old woman identified as Katalina Nyangoma, a resident of Kiboni village in Kicwamba ward, Mparo division.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson says that Kiiza together with police officers on Monday stormed Kiboni village and forcefully evicted Nyangoma and her grandchildren from a piece of land that the two have been contesting for.
Kiiza and Nyangoma have been feuding over a piece of land located in Kiboni village and the case is before Masindi High Court.
Hakiza says Kiiza used a fake court eviction order to evict Nyangoma, but when she and her grandchildren resisted, the pastor beat her up injuring her rib and left leg.
