Police in Kidooma parish, Kikuubwe district is searching for the body of a 16-year-old boy who has drowned in the River Wambabya.
On Wednesday evening , the deceased Daniel Sunday a P.6 Pupil at God Provides Primary school was washed away by fast-moving water when he went swimming with nine of his friends.
According to Deus Bashabonwe, the Kidooma parish Councillor by the time Sundays friends made known to the local authorities what had transpired, the body had long disappeared in the running water.
He says that Police have now teamed up with area residents in search of the missing body.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine regional police spokesperson says police have dispatched a team of marine divers to search for the body.
