A fire has on Tuesday afternoon gutted a furniture store completely wrecking goods worth 150 million Shillings
The store at Kitala in Katabi Town Council along the Kampala-Entebbe road had a collection of beds, sofa sets, tables, among other items.
According to the traders, they believe that the fire that started out abruptly and spread rapidly through about 2000 pieces of timber could have been triggered by petrol and other lubricants used at the workshop.
The Police fire brigade from Entebbe Police Station arrived 40 minutes later while rescuers were struggling to quell the unceasing fire using basins and water pipes.
However, the Police firefighting truck put out the fire within 20 minutes after arrival.
Vianney Tensumulule, the owner of the Furniture store says everything was completely destroyed and they are only waiting for his insurance partner to recuperate.
