The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) is slated to on Friday 31st January 2020 at 10 am unveil the 2019 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results.

Education minister Janet Kataha Museveni will preside over the release function that is expected to take place at the office of the president in Kampala.

However, on Thursday 30th January, there will be a briefing by UNEB officials on the performance of students in the presence of the Education Minister and other delegates.

A total of 337,697 candidates have registered to sit for this year’s Uganda Certificate of Examinations (UCE) from 3,531 centers across the country.

This represents an increment of 963 candidates (0.28 percent) from last year.

Out of the 337,697 candidates, 144,260 are from government schools and 193,437 private. The total registered candidates include 401 candidates with various forms of disabilities such as blindness (36), dyslexia (sighted 21; blind four), hearing impairment (60) and severe physical handicap (75). Those with low vision are 88 while those in need of extra time are 117

According to Dan Odongo, the UNEB secretary-general, the number of female candidates surpassed that of males making up to 50.2 percent, an increase from 49.5 percent in 2018.
