An Air Forces Jet Ranger AF 302 belonging to the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF)on a training mission has on Tuesday afternoon crashed in Gomba leaving two of its occupants dead.
The deceased are Major Naomi Karungi the pilot instructor alongside cadet Bernard Wakalu a crew member.
Maj.Karungi the deceased pilot had experience spanning 14 years in the military after joining the UPDF in 2005.
Brig. Richard Karemire the UPDF spokesperson confirmed the unfortunate incident and said the Jet Ranger AF 302 was on a training mission.
Karemire, however, divulged to give further details but said investigations into the cause of the crash have already started.
On behalf of the UPDF, expressed condolences to the families of the deceased.
