The Buganda Road Court has dismissed a case of cyber harassment against Brian Isiko, 25, a student of YMCA who was accused of harassing Kabarole District Woman MP Sylvia Rwabwogo through love messages.

The Buganda Road Grade One Magistrate, Stella Maris Amabilis dismissed the charges this morning on grounds that the complainant, Kabarole District Woman MP, Sylvia Rwabwogo declined to appear in court for the seventh time in a row to testify against the accused.

Isiko’s lawyer Ramathan Waiswa applied to the court to have the matter dismissed after the state failed to present the witnesses in court.

Since she is the only prosecution witness in the matter, the court declared that Rwabwogo was no longer interested in the case.

On May 29th, 2018 Isiko was picked up by parliamentary Police along Lugogo bypass and charged with acting contrary to the Computer Misuse Act.

He was arraigned at Buganda Road Court where he was accused of sending Rwabwogo love messages from poems and songs of famous international Artists like Akon, P. Square, with messages like, “Sorry you can put the blame on me”.

An overly joyed Isiko who spoke to Journalists outside court premises expressed relief that court threw out the case when he said it had taken a huge toll on his time and resources but was happy to now proceed with his normal life.

His lawyer, Ramadhan Waiswa said he will consult Isiko to see their next course of action and whether or not to sue for compensation and damages.
