The government has isolated 220 travelers arriving in Uganda from China at their homes.
The health ministry said in a statement on Tuesday that these 220 people including Chinese and Ugandans Nationals touched ground in the country between Sunday and Tuesday morning.
Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, the minister of health was quick to assert that there are no confirmed cases of Coronavirus yet despite the measures being taken to prevent any outbreak.
She, however, says the health ministry remains vigilant to identify any person with the disease and advises Ugandans to report and stay away from people presenting flu-like symptoms fever, sneezing, and cough and running nose mainly associated with the virus.
Last week, the health ministry dismissed rumors that a Ugandan had been infected with the virus at it isolated 100 people landing in from china at their homes. They have since been released after being monitored by health officials in their homes for corona like symptoms.
Ugandans mostly who have traveled have been encouraged to self-quarantine and isolate themselves at their homes for a period of 14 days during which health officials will be making spot checks on them until they are declared okay.
