The Inspector-General of Police –IGP Martin Ochola has ordered for the immediate arrest of the Bukuya Officer in charge- OC who is still at large for allegedly shooting a teenager dead.
Last month, Francis Obbo, OC Bukuya Police Station in Kassandra District, acted thoughtlessly when he reportedly gunned down a 13-year-old boy identified as Patrick Manihiro instead of a stray dog during an operation.
On that fateful day, Bukuya police was called by area residents concerning a dog that had become a nuisance terrorizing people and threatening to bite, Obbo who was in charge acted by commanding an operation that saw him fire randomly at the dog in an attempt to kill it but as ill-luck had it he killed a young boy in the process.
Obbo fled the scene upon realizing the heaviness of his crime and has since been at large forcing Wamala police regional commanders to launch a manhunt for his arrest.
Fred Enanga the Police Spokesperson since his escape, efforts to locate him through relatives and friends to record a statement have hit a dead end.
IGP Ochola last week extended condolences to the immediate family, friends, and relatives of Manihiro.
Ochola also promised to fast track the investigations and ensure the suspect is traced, arrested and brought to justice.
