Police in Kololo has arrested three suspected notorious phone thugs caught in possession of stolen phones and other items.

Kampala metropolitan deputy police spokesperson Luke Owesigirye says this follows a complaint from one Atuhairwe Rosette 32 yrs a resident of Kololo and marketing officer with fresh diary company Uganda, who filed a complaint with Kololo police station on the 04th of February 2020 concerning the loss of her phone a Nokia usher that was snatched from her by a stranger.

Police launched investigations that led to the arrest of two phone snatchers identified as Sengoba Eric 17 and Serwadda Andrew 18 currently being held at Kololo police station.

Owesigirye says while interrogating the suspects, they mentioned that they purchased the phone from one Arinitwe Anisha 28yrs and a resident of Bakuli, Namirembe parish, Rubaga division.

Police stormed the home of Arinitwe and found her in possession of 50 sim cards,51 phone covers,8 phone chargers, an Atm card,12 lady bags,3 national IDs,2 mobile phones,1 Nokia phone, and a Samsung s7.

Arinitwe has been caged at Kololo police station on charges of robbery, she will be presented before the courts of law.
