Police in Kampala metropolitan is looking for an unidentified gang of thugs that is responsible for murdering a security guard at an NGO called Good Neighbours located at Muyenga Bukasa Kijjwa Road, Nalwoga Close.
The assailants whose number is not yet known reportedly broke into the offices on Tuesday night at an unspecified time and also robbed a total of 8 laptops before fleeing the scene.
Kampala metropolitan police mouthpiece Patrick Onyango has identified the deceased as Nasasira Rodgers attached to security guards 2000.
The police mouthpiece says the thugs overpowered the guard who was on duty that day and managed to kill him and run off with the stolen items without anyone suspecting a thing.
Onyango says they have commenced investigations with the Criminal Investigations Department-CID visiting the scene to pick up pieces of evidence from the scene and also retrieve the CCTV footage belonging to the company for analysis.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased was taken to the City Mortuary Mulago pending a postmortem.
