It was horror on Monday evening at Seeta along Bukerere road in Ggoma Division Mukono District when four builders fell into a 20 feet deep septic tank they were digging.

Police together with residents were seen fidgeting through the night to retrieve the bodies but were faced with a huge obstacle of rain that hindered their progress.

It is alleged that a few minutes after the men started work on the Septic tank, it suddenly collapsed.

Eyewitnesses at the scene attribute the cave-in, to a heavy downpour that lasted six hours filling the tank with water.

The septic belongs to Ronald Lwanga who put it under construction for the toilet system of his storied building.

Among the unlucky buried men include the site engineer, Michael Mukiibi, a one Kato, Ssempala and the fourth victim whose identity still isn’t known. wasn’t readily available.

Joab Wabwiire, the Mukono Division Police Commander said that Police teamed up with residents to retrieve the bodies of the four men from the septic tank using excavators.

However, they were forced to halt work when rain resumed making it difficult to drain the tank.

He says the entire team is currently in the process of pumping out the water before they can remove the body.

Isma Kagga, one of the survivors who is currently nursing injuries at his home says that they were six when the septic tank collapsed but only two of them managed to getaway.
