South Sudan national team Headcoach Cyprian Besong Ashu has named a 27-man provisional squad that will face Uganda Cranes in the AFCON qualifiers double header to takeplace on 28th and 31st March.

The 27-man squad has Ugandan league duo of Mbarara City striker Makweth Wol Akeen and Busoga United’s Ivan Wani Adebo.

Makweth and Wani were part of the team that represented South Sudan in the 2019 AFCON U-23 qualifiers against Tunisia.

Makweth scored the decisive goal as South Sudan defeated Uganda 2-1 on aggregate in Juba.

Makweth was also part of the South Sudan team that featured in the U-20 CECAFA tournament held last year in Uganda.

The South Sudan team is expected to camp in Kenya before traveling to Kampala for the first leg scheduled for 28th at the Namboole stadium.

South Sudan will host th return leg on 31st March at the Nyayo stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.

Uganda leads group B with four points after two games while South Sudan are bottom of the table with no point yet.
