The speaker of parliament right Hon Rebecca Kadaga has on Thursday ordered the Kilak North Member of Parliament, Anthony Akol to be dismissed from parliament to self-quarantine for 14 days.

Speaking on the floor of parliament this afternoon on a procedural matter, the legislator informed the house that he had just returned from the red list covid 19 countries namely South Korea and South Africa on the 5th of march.

The overly confident legislator went on to accuse the health ministry of laxity, telling lies to Ugandans and not carrying out the necessary screening at the airport.

Akol explained that he wasn’t checked when he arrived at Entebbe International Airport since there wasn’t anyone available to screen him which was the same with other countries.

The Kasilo County MP, Elijah Okupa interjected and questioned if it was procedurally right to let Akol stay in the house yet he hasn’t self-quarantined for the mandatory 14 days.
