President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will on Wednesday, March 18, address the nation on the COVID-19 new measures to be undertaken on the COVID-19 epidemic.

The address will be aired live on all television and radio stations including social media at 5 PM, State House Entebbe by the Presidential Press Unit-PPU.

Assistant Presidential Press Secretary Linda Nabusayi said other media houses have been banned from stepping foot at the statehouse because of the looming COVID-19.

She says the PPU is in charge of transmitting the president’s address to all other media houses, and links and content for use will be shared on social media.

The president is expected to inform the public on the way forward based on the recent measures being taken, mostly new restrictions on all public gatherings, social service centers including schools, public transport and business amenities like markets.

The president will also explain more on the recent controversial communication by the speaker of parliament on the new instant virus killer being manufactured by Prof Safraz Naiz in a US company called Dei international and expected in Uganda in a fortnight.

The information has since drawn mixed reactions from a section of Ugandans and the Uganda Medical Association (UMA) who criticized the speaker Kadaga for announcing the ‘fake’ vaccine in parliament without passing through the authorized channels –NDA that responsible for testing and approving new drugs.

Footage on social media doing rounds shows Museveni with the speaker and other guests talking briefly how this new infection kills all viral and bacterial infections instantly.
