The Ministry Of Health Continues to encourage the public to practice preventative measures as advised and call their toll free numbers on (0800100066), (0800203033), for suspected cases as records rise to 18 Cases of COVID-19.
The disease is prone to spread from person to person, avoid contact with anyone that presents the symptoms of the pandemic, wash hands regularly with soap and water, sanitize where possible, avoid touching soft parts of your body, eat lots of fruits and vegetables are among the advice given to the public.
On his official Twitter Handle @KagutaMuseveni, the president confirmed another four people that have tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the total number of cases in Uganda now to 18.
The tweet reads;”Yesterday, the 26th of March, another 197 people were tested and many of them were returnees from Dubai or another category one countries, only 4 tested positives,” Museveni said. He added that the four had been under institutional quarantine in the various hotels identified by the sub-committee on quarantine and have since been evacuated to Mulago Hospital for treatment.
The same information was confirmed by Dr Diana Atwiine, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health announced that 104 returnees from Dubai or their associates who were tested for the virus on Wednesday, had all tested negative.
Meanwhile, several districts in Uganda continue to create isolation centers with several patients flocking in for isolation while presenting symptoms of the pandemic.
