Many BodaBoda operators in Kampala have been left holding their heads after unforgiving security officers impounded their motorcycles for defying the presidential directive on stopping the movement of Boda Bodas beyond 2 pm.

This follows Minister Kania Obiga, the state minister for internal affairs revelation that security agencies have been deployed and will arrest all Boda Boda riders caught on the road beyond the mandatory time of 2 pm starting on Thursday.

While addressing the media today Kania said they are simply enforcing the president’s directive which is in line with minimizing the movement of people across the country.

During his national address on COVID-19 on Wednesday night, President Museveni ordered that all Boda Bodas should start effective Thursday operating between 6:30 am and 2 PM as part of new measures in combating the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The president has since limited to eight hours the time for which boda bodas are allowed to move in a day.

Museveni said all “Bodaboda’s carrying parcels and delivering language across the country will only be permitted to work between 6am and 2 pm.
