A 30-year old man in Omoro district caught on camera flogging an 82-year-old woman fit to be his Great Grand Mother to hospitalization was arrested and has been charged with attempted murder
The ruthless Man is a Brian Okello a resident of Patuda Parish Ongako sub-county Omoro District.
On April 12, 2020, while at her home in Amilobo village Mego Anek Lucy 82 was attacked by her tormentor who was captured on film by an anonymous source flogging and humiliating the already frail Old woman.
The shocking video immediately went viral on social media attracting a lot of criticism and public outcry which prompted Police in Omoro to react by manhandling the suspected criminal to police cells as early as 2 am on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.
Okello was captured in a hideout 200 meters away from his actual at an abandoned grass-thatched house.
A statement from Ongako Police station shows that the battering criminal has been charged with torture and attempted murder recorded under the case file SD 11/13/04/2020
The police also confirmed that the battered old woman is battling for life at Gulu Regional Referral hospital where she was rushed for treatment and medical examination.
