Former Makerere University researcher Dr. Stella Nyanzi has been discharged from hospital for the second time in just over a week following her recovery from an illness.

“Finally I am out of the hospital. I feel good. I feel brand new. I feel alive. I feel like my kidneys, colon and other internal organs are well-oiled.” She posted on her social media channels.

The outspoken human rights activist was last Friday readmitted to Mengo hospital a day after she was discharged after she developed complications with the kidneys which necessitated close medical attention.

She has now been able to recover and was allowed to leave the hospital and return home, however, with strict instructions to reconsider her lifestyle in order to prolong her life.

Dr. Stella Nyanzi only recently completed an 18 months jail term she served at Luzira Maximum security prison for computer misuse after she offended the Head-of-State President Yoweri Museveni. She vowed to continue her activism once she is back in fine health.

“I thank the specialists and healthcare workers at Kampala Hospital and Mengo Hospital who treated my failing body. I thank them for flushing out all poisons and toxins from my body. Haters will need alternative avenues of poisoning me,” she mentioned.
