The country continues to celebrate after 1,032 samples of persons that were tested for COVID-19 at the Uganda Virus Research Institute on Wednesday, April 15 have turned out negative.

Dr.Mwebase Henry the Director-General Health Services announced the good news in a statement on Wednesday, April 15.

This leaves the number of infections in Uganda as of 16th April 2020 at 55.

The latest case was that of a Ugandan male truck driver who arrived from Kenya via Malaba border and was tracked by surveillance teams and intercepted at Kamdini.

Mwebase says the patient has been taken to Entebbe Hospital Grade B for treatment while surveillance teams trace his contacts.

Also, four persons that tested negative twice for COVID -19 at Mulago Hospital were discharged yesterday bringing the total number of those discharged to 12.
