12 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in neighboring Kenya, this brings the total number of patients to 246.
Kenya’s Health Minister Mutahi Kagwe while declaring the new cases said the 12 were confirmed from 450 tested samples.
“What this tells you is that we really need to increase capacity in terms of testing so that even those close contacts to already confirmed cases can also be tested,” Kagwe said.
Among them are 5 hotel workers and 4 close contacts of confirmed cases that were traced.
Kagwe also mentioned that a shipment of ventilators will be arriving in the next few days.
Kenya has also imported medical supplies, masks, and other protective gear to help manage the COVID -19 scare.
