Police have started looking into a case of torture involving the tormented legislator for Mityana Municipality, Francis Zaake who is currently hospitalized at Rubaga.
The police mouthpiece Fred Enanga has revealed that they have obtained a statement from the bedridden Mityana Municipality MP on May 4, 2020, and will conduct investigations into the allegations that he was tortured.
Enanga says investigating teams from the CID headquarters on Monday co-ordinated with the lawyers to MP Francis Zaake to obtain his statement from Rubaga hospital as they Investigate allegations of torture.
This follows statements made by Zaake at Rubaga hospital where he spoke to the media for the first time on his torture following a recorded statement with police.

Zaake says he underwent the most horrible experience he has ever had in the hands of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI).
Zaake revealed that during his torture, he fed on only one meal of porridge a day and was denied all visitation from anyone including his family.
The legislator narrates how he was handcuffed from behind, slapped, and kicked through the day until he could no longer sit or see.
He added that during the torture sessions, one of the men who identified himself as Twesigye Amudan often warned him to back off politics.
According to Zaake, following days of torture in an isolated chamber, he was eventually put in another cell where he met dozens of people.
MP Francis Zaake was arrested from Buswa Bulongo in Mityana District as he was distributing food to his voters defying the presidential directives.

It is alleged that he was tortured while in police custody prompting the Inspector General of Police-IGP, Okoth Martin Ochola to direct the CID to carry out Investigations into these allegations.
Enanga says that the obtained statement from MP Zaake will enable police to examine what transpired from the time when he was arrested and how he ended up at Iran Naguru Hospital.
Enanga also noted that they will also base on the medical reports of the doctors who examined MP Zaake in their Investigations.
