Two heartless police officers in Mubende district have been thrown behind police coolers for brutally thumping a 70 yr old man to death over curfew.

The duo reportedly tortured 70-year-old Ponsiano Tushabe, a resident of Kabafukuzi Village Council in Nabingoola Sub County while enforcing the presidential directives on curfew.

Wamala Regional Police Spokesperson, Rachael Kawala identifies the suspects as Godfrey Musisikwa, the Officer in Charge of Nabingoola Police station, and Corporal Moses Mwesigye.

Police say Tushabe was first arrested by the errant officers on Sunday in a local pub boozing alcohol with 3 drunkards swallowing booze beyond the curfew hours.

Tushabe was reportedly subjected to continued battering in the police cells until his condition worsened.

He was later rushed to Nabingoola health centre III then referred to Mubende Hospital, where he breathed his last.

The deceased’s body was handed over to relatives for burial.

Kawala says investigations are ongoing to establish the allegations of torture before the two police officers are arraigned in court for murder.
