Tormented Mityana Municipality MP Hon Francis Zaake, the Member of Parliament has now filed a legal case of Torture against the government and individual police and military officers brutally meted on him while in custody.
The ailing legislator seeks to be compensated for castigatory and aggravated harm that he faced in his arrest, detention, and torture.
In his lawsuit filed to the high court, the legislator sues the Attorney General on behalf of the government, Wamala Region Police Commander Bob Kagarura, Mityana district police commander Alex Mwiine, and Elly Womanya, the commandant of the SIU.
Others to face court are Musa Walugembe, the officer in charge -OC of the Special Investigations Unit-SIU, Abel Kandiho, the head of the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence-CMI and two others; Twesigye Hamdan and Mulungi Haruna Nsamba.

Through his lawyers of Kiiza and Mugisha advocates, Zaake asked contends that his fundamental human rights were infringed on with the inhumane suffering he went through while in detention.
His application on the 6th May 2020, mentions the intentional infliction of severe pain, the fundamental violation of his right to dignity, freedom from torture, cruelty, inhumane and degrading treatment.
Zaake also wants the court to issue a permanent order staying all criminal proceedings arising from his arrest and detention.

The tormented Mp also wants the respondents to be found in contempt of court when they chose to still detain him beyond the mandatory even after an order from the Nakawa Chief magistrate to release him after he was produced to the Mityana Court on a hospital stretcher.
Also in his official declaration, the ailing legislator alleges that his 15million Shillings meant for supporting his constituents was stolen from his bedroom in the process of searching his house by policemen on orders of the DPC.
Zaake was arrested on April 19 from his home at Buswabulongo in Mityana municipality for allegedly endangering the lives of the people by distributing food despite the ban of the same by President Yoweri Museveni.
