Another LDU officer has opened fire on two civilians murdering one and critically injuring another in Kween district.
The LDU whose identity is still concealed is being investigated by the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces-UPDF and will appear in court once the investigations are done.
This comes barely a week after another incident involving an LDU -private Robert Miyaga in Masaka that claimed the lives of a Boda Boda and a pregnant woman.
On Friday Last week, Miyaga shot at Edward Musaasizi, the Chairperson of Lutovu Village in Malongo Sub County in Lwengo district and Jacqueline Asasira along Kampala road next to Byansi Pharmacy in Masaka town.
Maj Telesphar Turyamumanya, the UPDF 3rd Division Spokesperson says the LDU will appear in the court-martial to answer to charges pressed on him when investigations are complete.
Preliminary findings show that 46-year-old Alfred Mwanga was reportedly killed after resisting arrest and provoking the LDU with a machete prompting the fuming LDU to fire a live bullet that also injured his colleague David Denis Chemusto.
Chemusto a resident of Kamunjan village is hospitalized in critical condition at Kapchorwa General Hospital.
According to police, the LDUs who were enforcing curfew found Mwanga had hosted twelve other people playing cards at his residence, in the process he tried to hack the LDUs with a machete forcing them to open fire.
Police picked up the LDU and handed him over to UPDF 3rd Division to answer murder charges.
