Ibrahim Ssemujju has been vocal in Parliament when MPs’ accounts were furnished with Shs20M.

Ssemujju who is the MP for Kiira Municipality had vowed not to return the cash.

The legislator told media he used the money to purchase food for his people in the constituency.

However, while appearing on NTV Tuesday morning, Ssemujju told viewers he was forced to return the cash.

Ssemujju recounted: “I had insisted not to pay back the Ushs 20m but I returned it because a court order came in, I had no option because court is court.”

The legislator then took aim at President Museveni for not relaxing lock down.

He said: “For me, the President simply made a threat to relax the lock down but at the end, he had relaxed nothing.”

The opposition chief whip castigated: “In Uganda, I don’t think there is any reason as to why people shouldn’t be working. When you go deep in the villages, they don’t even know that there are any restrictions.”

Ssemujju blasted: “I don’t even understand why Mr. Museveni wants to take over the sole responsibility for everything. Food, masks but also of how things happen now.”
