The Ministry of health has adjusted the country’s total number of COVID-19 infections from the previous 264 to now 145.
The Health Minister Jane Ruth Aceng says Uganda has made these amendments following to deduct all foreign truck drivers from Uganda’s case count.
The World Health Organization-WHO, statistics of Ugandan COVID-19 infections on Wednesday showed that the country had confirmed 264 cases but that has since changed.
This contradicts a directive by the World body and the International Health Regulations- IHR asking that every case that is confirmed for COVID-19 should be registered and treated in the host country.
Dr.Aceng says the number of all infected foreign lorry drivers will now be added to their respective countries.
Aceng adds that the health ministry has so far handed over a total of 124 infected foreign truck drivers to their respective countries within the border countries.
Also all the other 222 community samples tested returned negative.
