The Joint Security task force has on Thursday made clarifications after an errored internal communication was wrongly circulated externally on the release of public and private vehicles.

The internal communication was directed to all territorial commanders on Wednesday 20.05.2020, giving additional guidelines on the enforcement of the Covid-19 lockdown.

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga has on Thursday clarified that the internal communication had a few inaccuracies and was wrongly circulated to the public hence misleading them.

It had stated that both transport and selected businesses had been activated to operate.

However, Enanga has urged the public to dismiss the false and misleading information about the use of public and private vehicles, as well as the activation of selected businesses.

He explained that they maintain that all general merchandise shops outside malls, hotels, and restaurants, and the use of private vehicles will resume on 26.05.2020.

He added that all taxis, buses, and minibuses will resume operations at 50% capacity in 95 districts that are not along the borders on 4.06.2020. All members of the public will wear face masks.

Enanga also warned external publics to exercise caution while circulating any information meant for internal administrative use.
