Police impounded several cars Tuesday night for failing to beat curfew hours.

According to police several Kampala people had their cars impounded and made to spend the night at their cells.

Police Wednesday morning issued a directive warning they will even be tougher than day one of the exercise.

KMP Traffic Commander, SSP Norman Musinga echoed: “We Experienced Traffic Jam in most parts of Kampala Metropolitan Area and this was caused mainly by Excitement, indiscipline and delay in Places of Work and other Motorists had nothing to do but just for the sake of getting out.”

Musinga vowed: “We shall be enforcing Traffic and Regulations on all our check points with emphasis on the following offences, Driving without permits, Over speeding, driving while under influence of alcohol.”

He revealed: “We shall impound all Motor Vehicles found driving beyond curfew time and action will be taken against the Driver.”

KMP Traffic Commander said: “Delay in Traffic Jam Should not be used as an excuse for being caught up in Curfew Time.”

Musinga urged: “All Motorists are advised observe Ministry of Health Guidelines and Presidential directives on Curfew time.”

However, Speaker @RebeccaKadagaUG pleaded with police and President Yoweri Museveni to be considerate with the masses.

Kadaga begged: “I watched on TV last evening and there were hundreds of cars at police stations and road blocks.”I think the @PoliceUg should try to be considerate and the President will have to look into it. This is something which has to be discussed.”
