A horrible motor accident has claimed the lives of 3 people at Magamaga trading center along Iganga – Jinja highway.
The accident that occurred at 5;30 am involved 2 police detectives from the Criminal Investigations Directorate-CID headquarters and a suspect.
The dead are Detective Assistant IP Emmanuel Mawa attached to General Crime at CID headquarters, D / Sgt Dick Magara from General Crime CID headquarters, and Phillip Wadambwa the suspect.
Another accident victim yet to be identified is admitted to Jinja Regional Referral Hospital in critical condition.
The death occurred when a speeding Toyota Premio UBF 837K being escorted by a police patrol truck, rammed into a Scania truck registration number UBB 438L/UBE 362Q in an attempt to overtake it and had a head-on collision with a Kenyan truck KCQ 638C/ZC 738.
The bodies have been taken to Jinja Hospital mortuary for postmortem as investigations to establish the cause of the accident continue.
