A ruthless 20-year-old Mother is in Police custody for reportedly smashing her eight months old baby’s head with a stone and killing it on spot.
Police in Nwoya is holding a 20-year-old woman for allegedly killing her own newborn baby.
Evil Jackeline Apiyo, a resident of Pawatomeru Parish, Purongo Sub –County in Nwoya district reportedly killed the baby after she failed to succeed with the abortion of her 8 months pregnancy on Saturday, July 11.
Preliminary reports indicate that Apiyo who didn’t want to deliver the baby and reportedly drunk a concoction of herbs and decided to run to a nearby bush to abort.
After the baby came out alive the wicked mother reportedly grabbed a heavy stone and hit it on the head before wrapping it with leaves.
Apiyo later returned home bleeding profusely and with severe pain to her abdomen which attracted the attention of her relatives.
They soon discovered the wicked woman was not pregnant anymore and the baby was nowhere to be seen prompting her family to question her on what exactly transpired.
After hours of squeezing her for an answer, Apiyo later confessed to killing the infant and dumping the body in the bush.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson says that the body of the baby was retrieved from the bush and taken to Anaka Hospital Mortuary for post –mortem.
Okema, Apiyo was taken to Purongo Health Centre III for post-abortion care and will be charged with Murder once she recovers.
