A total of 4 Masaka police commanders to Professional Standards Unit-PSU Bukoto, Kampala in connection to the death of a 19-year-old Boda Boda rider who torched himself at the Masaka Central Police Station traffic office.
PSU is investigating why the 4 police commanders kept silent despite the dishonorable behaviors at the force under their authority.
These are; Masaka District Police Commander, Bosco Bakasahaba, the Masaka Region Criminal Investigations Officer, Elias Bayiruka, the Officer in Charge of Operations, Owen Nahabwe and the Officer in Charge of Nyendo Police Station, David Kanakulya.

Muhammad Nsubuga, the Masaka Region Police Spokesperson says the Officer in Charge of Masaka Central Police Station is now the acting District Police Commander as they await deployment of other officers from the Police Headquarters to fill up other positions.
In early July, 19-year-old Hussein Walugembe roasted himself using petrol he carried in a bottle and a match after failing to pick up his motorcycle that was impounded for breaking curfew.
The traffic police officers on duty reportedly inflated figures and asked the deceased to produce 100.000 shillings before his motorcycle was to be handed back
The implicated police officers Sergeants Ibrahim Ssesanga and Julius Ewalu have since been found guilty of corrupt tendencies like extorting money and disgraceful behavior by the Police disciplinary court sitting at Masaka Central Police Station.
The police disciplinary court also proposed the dismissal of the police officers from the force with immediate effect.
