President Yoweri Museveni has paid a visit to the demolished St Peter’s Church in Ndeeba.

Residents woke up to shock when the St. Peter’s Church structure in Ndeeba was demolished by unknown people.

President Museveni who paid a visit to the demolished structure said: “On my way to work this morning, I passed by the site of St Peter’s Church in Ndeeba that was recently demolished by unscrupulous people.”

Museveni regretted: “I am saddened by this incident and I give the church assurances that those complicit will be punished.”

The President revealed: “I am going to invite the Namirembe Diocese Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Wilberforce Luwalira, and engage all parties involved in this conflict to find a lasting solution.”

Museveni vowed: “The bottom line is that the Church will retain this land and we shall build a new church. I have now joined this war.”

National Luganda Newspaper Bukedde writes that according to the law firm Nangwala, Razida & Company Advocates, who handled the matter in court, have warned that it is a court matter.

The Law firm asserts that the land located on Block 7 Plot 39 in Ndeeba belonged to Evairini Evelyn Nachwa since July 7, 1941.

On January 16, 1980 the land acquired a new land title because the old one could not be traced. The new land title was created in the name of Bishop Dunstan Nsubuga and witnessed by Rev. V.S Kitaka and E.K Kizito.

It is reported that the land title was staked in Barclays Bank in January in 1980. Court heard that when Nachwa died she left the land in the hands of her son John Kajoba.

Kajoba is said to have changed the land title in his names. Court heard that Kajoba is responsible for selling the land to Ephraim Enterprises Limited of Dodoviko Mwanje.
