Police have finally captured the key suspect in the brutal killing of Viola Kakai the 38-year- old nurse at International Hospital Kampala – IHK.
Simon Shimanya, the husband to the deceased was netted in Kakamba village, Isingiro district by Criminal Investigation Directorate – CID officials where he was in hiding.
While at the police Shimanya announced that he had no hand in his Wife’s death and insists that her alleged lover identified as one Robert Ssebufu knows how she died.
The couple who had three children were residents of Kitezi, Kasangati town council in Wakiso district.
Preliminary reports indicate that on August 2, 2020, Shimanya was involved in a bitter fight with his wife over infidelity issues that ended with the evil Husband hacking his wife Kakai to death.
Shimanya, accused Kakai of denying him his marital pleasures as a husband, and instead, she was serving herself to one Robert Ssebufu.
The couple had also been fighting over an alleged property and had failed to reach an agreement for over 5 years.
Samson Kasasira, Rwizi regional police spokesperson says they managed to locate Shimanya following voluntarily reports to police of his whereabouts by whistleblowers.
