Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has become the latest public entity to register cases of COVID -19 in the Kampala metropolitan area.

UNRA announced in a statement released on Monday afternoon that 6 of their staff members had contracted COVID-19.

The results were derived from 222 samples that were tested out of 494 samples from staff tested between August 19 and 20th 2020.

According to the statement,5 staff work at the UNRA Headquarters in the Nakawa Business park while one is from the Masindo Station Office.

UNRA is now working closely with the Ministry of Health to roll out what they describe as “respective incident management protocols and health support system that includes psychological services to affected members of staff.

So far,14 COVID 19 cases have been confirmed UNRA from various government Agencies including Vision Group, Uganda Police among others.

UNRA is yet to announce the next steps to be taken to curb further spread of the disease which is penetrating Kampala at a very fast rate.
