It is a somber mood in Muyenga slum, Masese III village in Jinja city after a 35-year-old woman got electrocuted by loose live electric wires on Tuesday afternoon.

Robinah Nabukonde, met her death while washing clothes of a client who had hired her when she accidentally touched the wire and immediately dropped dead to the ground.

Previously a support staff at Jinja College senior secondary school, Nabukonde, only started washing clothes for people as a means of survival when the lockdown rendered her jobless.

However, Other neighbors who tried to rescue Nabukonde claim even after she fell to the ground, Nabukonde was still alive and she struggled to push the wire off her neck in vain while people watched on for fear to get electrocuted as well.

Her lifeless body was taken to Jinja Regional Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
