Kampala City Lord Mayor hopeful Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone has trashed rumours doing rounds that he has ditched Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi wine’s National Unity platform –NUP for Mugisha Muntu’s the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT)
This comes after, a campaign an ANT poster for lord mayor showing Chameleon’s picture went viral on social media.
Chameleone recently lost to Latif Ssebagala after scoring 51% for Kampala Lord Mayorship in the largely contested NUP vetting process.
A vetting form circulating the social media showed that Chameleon was vetted based on whether he was catholic among other principals.
NUP has come under fire from a cross-section of the public for listing being catholic as one of the requirements for winning the party flag in the 2021 elections.
However, Chameleone has responded to the claims on his social media platforms trashing the rumours as baseless propaganda.
“Don’t believe such Propaganda that is here to disturb our vision. THIS POSTER IS FAKE!” the musician turned politician posted on Tuesday.
He asked his supporters not to believe in such propaganda he claims is a fake poster aimed at disrupting their vision.
