Police have launched investigations into circumstances under which one man was killed and another injured during a robbery incident at Garuga Katabi Town council Wakiso district that occurred on Thursday night.

An unknown goon reportedly attacked one Sebina Brian a builder who was riding his motorcycle to pick his friends identified as Joseph Kasongode and his wife Irene Namajje.

Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire says the goon who was armed with a rifle threatened to shoot the three if they failed to give him money.

The victims refused to release the Bag that Namajje was holding that reportedly contained 200.000shillings.
Owoyesigirye says in the process a scuffle ensued leading the goon to open fire on them, killing Sebinna on spot and injuring Kasongode.

He says Namajje has told police that she can identify the goon because he has robbed her before, only she never reported the incident to police.

“It’s from there that we are relying on that specific information to trace for the goon and have him arrested and also recover the gun that was used in this heinous act,” Owoyesigirye said.

He added that the deceased Sebiina’s body was taken to city mortuary Mulago for postmortem while Kasongode is nursing his injuries at Kisubi hospital where he is currently hospitalized.
