A section of Tanzanians have taken to social media to air out their mixed reactions after their favorite singer, Naseeb Juma, popularly known as Diamond Platnumz was said to be a Ugandan by origin.

Diamond’s father, Mzee Abdul Juma told the media that if all laws were to be followed, then Diamond would have been a Ugandan and not a Tanzanian.
For most of us who knew the singer since his breakthrough in music over 10 years ago, we considered him as Tanzanian from a small village called Tandale in Kigoma.
However, his father proved many people wrong when he revealed that Diamond is only associated with Kigoma because he grew up with his mother who hails from the region.

“If the law was to be observed to the letter, Diamond is a Ugandan, he is not from Kigoma, just say because he grew up with his mother that is why he believes he is from Kigoma,” said Mzee Juma .
Mzee Juma’s revelations have elicited debates in Tanzania after fans were asked if would allow Diamond to go to his ancestors land in Uganda.
Earlier this year, Diamond also took to his Instagram account claimed that his dad is a Ugandan.
Diamond shared a clip of renown Triplets Ghetto Kids dancing to his latest jam and captioned it;
” UGANDA you know My Dad is from there and My two Kids are from there right…..?”, his caption read.
