The high court in Masaka has sentenced to 25years a man found guilty of killing his 80-year-old grandfather over land.

35-year-old Gregory Ssempijja flogged his grandfather Albert Suli Ssalongo to death on August 18th, 2020 in Kalungu trading center in Kalungu rural sub-county in Kalungu district.

Court heard that Ssempijja who was brought up by his grandfather from 2- years- old when his parents abandoned him,was given 4 acres of land that he misused.

Prosecution led by Jacob Nahurira told the High Court that Ssempijja started selling off the land bit by bit until his grandfather got concerned and attempted to stop it.
