Presidential candidate for FDC Patrick Amuriat has already arrived at the nomination center in Kyambogo alone without one shoe.
Amuriat was netted alongside his lawyer Julius Galisonga, at Najjanankumbi today morning on his way to the main office to gather his entourage and collect his nomination documents.
However, Security forces swiftly whisked him off to Kyambogo alone where he is currently seated at a tent waiting to be nominated at 1pm.
It is not exactly clear how Amuriat plans to put himself in order before his nomination time, considering he lacks the EC requirements like a Proposer and seconder, academic results, nomination papers, proof of nomination fees payment among others.
Uganda People’s Defence Forces – UPDF soldiers, Military Police, and Field Force Unit have sealed off FDC offices refusing anyone to enter until tomorrow.
Meanwhile, unspecified numbers of FDC supporters have been arrested and are currently detained at Katwe police station. Some of the supporters were wounded in the scuffle between military and police.
Galisonga said they were still trying to find out where the injured supporters are being admitted.
