Security forces in Mbarara have started early preparations to form law and order in the town ahead of the National Unity platform manifesto launch, slated for tomorrow.

There is already visible presence of both Police and the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces at the Mbarara Masaka Road as anticipation builds up for tomorrow’s event.’

The security forces have mounted 3 unusual roadblocks in Mbarara city along the Mbarara Masaka Road at Biharwe, at the weighbridge, and Sanga.

The roadblocks were put up since early morning, at every checkpoint, and every car entering and exiting Mbarara is being checked, in addition to the occupants to providing their identity.

Bobi wine postponed his manifesto launch to Saturday, November 7th, 2020 to allow him and others to mourn the death of Dr. Karisa who is being laid to rest in Ntungamo.

Bobi wine is already in Ntungamo for the burial of Dr. Karisa and is expected to stay the night in Mbarara as he awaits the nomination on Saturday.

The Uganda Police counterterrorism boss who is also the Zonal Commander Ankole- Kigezi electoral policing zone  Abas Byakagaba, says the roadblocks are meant to block any processions and campaigns by the opposition.
