Uganda is indeed blessed with immense talent! Each and every year, we at least get one or two talented new kid on the block in the entertainment industry.
Particularly in R n B genre, over the years we have had artists like Aziz Azion, OS, Tonix, Geosteady, Fille, Lydia Jazmine and many others who have given breathtaking sounds.
But in 2020, one young talented boy from Jinja has steadily crooned his way to people’s hearts and this is none other than Victor Cruz.
Personally i have never shared a cup of tea or even met him face to face but his music has made me give him my ears. Right from when Victor Ruz was introduced to the mainstream by renown city events MC and media personality, MC Kats, he has dropped killer hits which have steadily made him standout.
One must be too excited to compare him to Moze Radio but if you listen to Ruz’s lyrically rich melodies like Love Legend, Kako, Kikomando and Ndeese Love, his latest project, you will believe with me that indeed Ruz has something special. His word play, catchy lyrics and sweet melodies can give you goosebumps, that’s you are a fan on soft music.
Ruz aka Nile Prince makes you think he is not an upcoming artist. Probably his most undoing is that he is too humble and lives a low-key life. In Uganda, an artist to completely stand out, he or she must have that an x-factor…not only good music. At least let him court some controversy or add showbiz to his game…I heard he is bonking the beautiful Vivian Tendo!
Well that will be a story for another day but Surely Victor Ruz deserves a mention and if he masters what sells, he might become the new king of R nb in the near future!
