Ugandans on social media have blasted celebrated local singer Sheebah Karungi for coming out strongly to condemn the Uganda Police Force for brutally arresting   Nigerian pop stars Omah Lay and Tems after the duo performed at an event over the weekend  that saw hundreds of people violate the Ministry of Health COVID-19 guidelines.

On getting info that there was an event that was illegally licensed by some top security officials even without clearance from the Ministry of Health, the men in grey swung in action and netted all the event organizers plus artists involved in the concert. As such two popular Nigerian artists  Omah Lay and Tems were arrested and aligned in the courts of laws. After a hearing that lasted about one hour both musicians were remanded to Kitalya Prison until 16th December 2020.

On hearing about Omah Lay’s brutal detention that happened yesterday evening ,celebrated local singer Sheebah Karungi took to social media and criticized Police for arresting the wrong people. according to the ‘Mpeeta’ hit maker the men in grey would have arrested the event organizers and not the musicians.

”I can’t believe what I’ve just heard & seen!! Honestly @policeug , this is not fair to the musicians . How on earth would the the artists from Nigeria know the laws in our music industry?? I don’t know the laws governing the Nigerian industry.. I don’t. So if I get booked there, I assume the country is holding concerts already because they wouldn’t have booked me if they are not allowed to. It’s as simple as that. You already know who to blame. It’s definitely not the artists” Sheebah posted.

Unfortunately for Sheebah, despite coming out loud and clear to criticize  Omah Lay’s arrest, Ugandans on social media have blasted her for showing the highest degree of hypocrisy. Many of Sheebah’s fans now condemn her for fighting for a little known Nigerian yet when 40 million Ugandans were killed by security operatives she never came out to condemns the brutal acts violence
