Police have revealed a plot by the National Unity Platform – NUP strongman Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, to kidnap himself and pin the government.

The Uganda police spokesman Fred Enanga says the force has come across intelligence information that Bobi wine is plotting to hide at one of the Embassies in Uganda right after casting his ballot.

He adds that this is Bobi’s golden chance to pin state security agencies for taking him, hostage and maltreating him hence creating unrest in the public.

Enanga says  Kyagulanyi’s plan to hide is intended to create tension and unrest similar to that which happened on the 18th and 19th November when he was arrested in Luuka district.

The riots followed an operation by both Police and Military that ended in the killing of  54, hundreds of injuries, and dozens of arrests.

He has however warned that this time around, security is more than ready to handle both Bobi and any riots.

UPDF spokesperson, Brig Flavia Byekwaso, urged the public not to fear the heavy deployments in Kampala and various other towns as this is meant to keep the situation under control..
