Police in Kampala has confirmed they have in their custody 45 people found camping at the residence of Local Kadongo Kamu singer Mathia s Walukaga on Wednesday morning while disregarding COVID-19 guidelines.
The crowd was nabbed at Walukaga’s residence in Nsangi, Maya sub-county, Wakiso district at about 12am under unclear circumstances.
It is alleged that when Walukagga saw the cops arriving, he swiftly disappeared from his comrades into the house escaping arrest narrowly
Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala metropolitan deputy police spokesperson says the arrests were carried out after the Police received information that Walukaga had gathered crowds at his residence while shouting on top of their voices,
They have been detained on charges of doing negligent acts likely to spread infection of disease.
Police however says the suspects are being processed and will be arraigned in court.
