The European Union-EU stirred tension on Thursday morning after it sent a delegation of 12 members to interact with the distressed National Unity Platform -NUP stri=ongman Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine at his Magere residence.
The protracted meeting that lasted close to 3 hours concluded with an initial statement from the NUP party spokesperson Joel Senyonyi to the media.

Ssenyonyi says they discussed among other details, the gross violation of Human rights by the state security agencies like police and the military that have left a majority of their supporters and Ugandans injured, arrested without remand, some people are still reported missing, and bloodshed that has left people dead.
He adds that the government has remained silent and paid a deaf ear to investigations.

Ssenyonyi says they requested the EU delegation to organize a meeting with president Museveni to deliberate on the effects of the recently concluded election process that has affected a number of Ugandans.
The EU on the other hand released a statement on the outcome of the meeting. In it, they outline observations and resolutions that include among others welcoming the petition by Bobi wine challenging the election outcomes at the supreme court as a peaceful option.

The EU has also clarified that they warned Bobi wine against his supporters activating bloodshed in Uganda by realizing sectarian statements.
Here is the brief press release from the EU.
