The police force has on Thursday passed out Forty-five Superintendents who have been undertaking a refresher course in command and leadership at Bwebajja Police College.
The training that lasted 4 months involved 31 males and 14 females who focused on leadership and command.
On September 21,2020,45 cops operating as serving as District/Division police Commanders were directed by the Inspector-General of Police, Martin Okoth Ochola to take up the course.
The graduates will now assume office as DPC’s after acquiring skills to help them catch up with fast-changing crime trends while their colleagues also undertake the same course.
AIGP, Afande Asan Kasingye, the Police Political Commissar presided over the occasion and says the training has focused on elements that will ensure a more skillful and people-related police force.
He notes that this training will see the commanders return to their communities more polished with skills in handling the fast-growing crime rates, more peaceful and security-driven officers who can monitor their subordinates, and officers with ideological thinking that caters to the needs of the general public.
